Santa Cruz Land Turtles Farm is recognized by the admition number 2/25/95/0062-0 of the "Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis - IBAMA" from the "Ministério do Meio Ambiente" a brazilian governamental agency of enviromentalist policy on renewed resources.

Santa Cruz Farm is located on the rural district of Queimadas City - Bahia - Brazil in the road that leads away to "Riacho da Onça" (cougar's creek). Geographically it is inside of the semi-arid zone of Bahia state, where the average rainfall (pluviometric) is 600mm yearly. In this region birds and animals of various specimen live, particularly "Jabuti piranga" (Piranga tortoise) or the "Geochelone carbonaria" lives its habitat.

Our license was granted to raise and reproduce the "Jabuti piranga and Jabuti tinga" (Tinga's tortoise) or "Geochelone denticulata" aiming to sell the cubs born in captivity to the domestic market and trade abroad too.

Tortoise is an animal of a very discrete habit. It accupies small places to live. It is too easy to be manage and can be raised like a pet by children as well as grown ups. It can be fed with flesh (animal fissue and liver) and plants (vegetables and fruit of all sorts) you can give dog's food also.
To keep it healthy it is necessary to vermifuge and give it vitamin A, C and E.
